Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Maternal/Newborn Couplet Care unit at the Fort Worth location. You will deliver patient care using the Nursing Process in a 27-bed unit with 275–300 deliveries per month, and participate in rotating shifts with weekend/holiday requirements.

Requirements include an RN license, an associate degree or diploma, and BCLS/NRP/CPI certifications; BSN preferred. Strong confidentiality and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required.
• BSN is preferred.
• RN - Registered Nurse license required upon hire.
• One-year experience as a Registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• One year or more of Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
• NRP - NeonatalResuscitation Program within 90 days is required.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required.
• Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
