Job summary

GEO Group is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care to inmates/detainees in a secure facility. You will collaborate with LPN staff and physicians to ensure accurate assessments, timely medication administration, and patient education.

The role requires an RN license in the United States, a minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and residency eligibility. A degree of independence and patient‑centered care is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an approved program; RN license required.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Must be a United States citizen and meet residency/eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within capacity and refer other medical problems to physician.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessment and medical history.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report problems to Physician and management.
• Securely administer medication, taking precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking.
• Make sure prescribed medications are administered as instructed.
• Provide patient education for Chronic Illnesses, post‑hospitalization, post‑surgical procedures.
• Supervises the workflow of the LPN staff and provides input into performance evaluation.
• Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
• Follow industry and company accreditation policies.
