Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality medical care in a secure Georgia facility. You will work alongside an LPN to assess, treat, and educate inmates/detainees while maintaining strict safety and confidentiality standards.

The role requires an active RN license, 2+ years of experience, and ability to work with minimal supervision. This is a full‑time, on‑site position within a challenging, mission‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must have current, unrestricted RN license in the state where the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care.
• Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis and follow-up treatment.
• US citizenship required.
• Residency in the United States or its territories in the last five years, or federal service overseas.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to inmates/detainees in a secure facility.
• Perform physical assessments and obtain medical histories.
• Evaluate patient symptoms and progress; report to physicians and management.
• Administer medications safely and ensure proper dosing.
• Educate patients on chronic illnesses, post-hospitalization, and post-surgical care.
• Supervise LPN staff and assist with performance evaluations.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and document detainee contacts.
• Follow facility accreditation policies and company procedures.
