Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of Optum, is seeking qualified candidates for the RN Infusion role at varying levels (I, II). The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level based on qualifications and experience, providing infusion nursing care under licensed supervision.

The position involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, administering medications such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, performing IV insertions, assessing patient needs, and documenting care in EMRs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved RN program.
• Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Course within 3 months of employment.
• Valid and current Texas RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• 6+ months of RN experience or 1+ years of KSC experience in lieu of 6 months with approval from Kelsey Seybold Director of Nursing, Cancer Services.
• Experience with EMRs.
• Computer proficiency.
• Proficiency in IV insertion.
• Proven clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Apply clinical nursing knowledge to promote safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide infusion care.
• Educate patients and administer medications such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Assess physiological and psychosocial needs and communicate concerns to the team.
