Job summary

EyeSouth Partners seeks a part-time Registered Nurse for MidWest Eye Center in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on ongoing assessment and nursing care per physician orders, with teaching of patients and coordination within the care team to deliver quality eye care.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, documenting care, and maintaining infection control. The position is on-site with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED certificate recipient.
• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state where work will be conducted.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Current Pre-op/PACU experience (within past 2 years).
• Ability to make sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.

Responsibilities

• Observe facility policies and prepare patients for planned procedures.
• Obtain the patient’s medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions.
• Administer medications per physician order.
• Appropriate documentation of care in patient records.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Educate the patient including providing instructions in preparation for discharge.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Maintain appropriate supplies and medication and supervise non-licensed personnel as assigned.
