Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse for our Surgical Short Stay unit. The Day Shift (0700-1930) focuses on comprehensive nursing care, patient advocacy, and collaboration with the health care team to assess, plan, and treat patients and families.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS certification, and ACLS/PALS within specified timelines, with duties spanning patient assessment, care planning, teaching, and medication administration.

Qualifications

• Current RN license required.
• Multistate licenses must establish Idaho residency within 60 days of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA/Red Cross required; ACLS/PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments across age groups.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs.
• Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor effects; ensure safe medication practices.
• Document care accurately and maintain chart integrity.
• Collaborate with the health care team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
