Job summary

Recovery Centers of America is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to support detox and behavioral health care at their facility. The RN will perform intake assessments, plan and provide nursing care, and collaborate with the team to maintain a therapeutic environment.

The role requires an active RN license (Massachusetts) or the ability to obtain one. Prior addiction treatment experience is preferred, with opportunities to work rotating days and weekends and to use CIWA/COWS assessments as

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state (Massachusetts) or ability to get licensed.
• Prior behavioral health or addiction experience is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through patient interviews to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Collaborate with team to create a therapeutic environment using de-escalation and therapeutic communication.
• Monitor patients with CIWA/COWS and vital signs during detox; administer meds as ordered.
• Consult with medical and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
• Prepare paperwork and meds for discharging patients next shift.
• Administer medications and note reactions to psychotropic drugs.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
