Job summary

Recovery Centers of America in Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support patient recovery in our detox settings. This part-time role covers day and night shifts, including every other weekend, with CIWA/COWS monitoring and collaborative care.

Qualifications

• Current MA RN license or ability to obtain one.
• Previous behavioral health or addiction experience preferred.
• CIWA/COWS familiarity preferred.
• Knowledge of detoxification, DSM terminology encouraged.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends (Sat/Sun).
• Strong reading, writing and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through patient interviews to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Collaborate with team to create a therapeutic environment using de-escalation and therapeutic communication.
• Monitor patients with CIWA/COWS, record vital signs, and administer medications as ordered.
• Consult with medical and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
• Prepare paperwork and medications for patients discharging next shift.
• Administer and document reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
