Job summary

Recovery Centers of America is seeking an RN for full-time day and night shifts in Massachusetts. The role involves intake assessments, planning nursing care, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to support detox patients.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or the ability to get licensed).
• Experience in behavioral health or addiction is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification, addiction and related DSM terminology preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret information, and write clearly; edits for spelling/grammar.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through patient interviews and gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Collaborate with team to create a therapeutic environment and use de-escalation techniques.
• Monitor patients with CIWA/COWS and vital signs during detoxification; administer meds as ordered.
• Consult with medical and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans.
• Prepare paperwork and medications for discharge next shift.
• Administer and document reactions to medications and psychotropics.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.
