Eye Associates of New Mexico in Santa Fe, NM, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician – Retina Coordinator for a part-time 20-hour week. Starting pay $16.50 per hour plus depends on skills/experience.

The technician schedules injections and laser procedures, maintains supplies, and supports physicians with patient care, charting, and pre-registration duties. The ideal candidate holds COA certification, has two years of clinical experience, strong communication, and PODIS/electronic records

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be COA certified with two years of clinical experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service orientation, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Schedules intravitreal injections and laser procedures per physician plan.
• Maintains injection supplies and tracks drugs; orders as needed.
• Initiates prior authorizations for procedures/medications.
• Charts patient communications about cancellations and reschedules.
• Verifies procedure info and correct eye in chart; pre-registration duties.
• Documents patient history and meds in EMR; records injection details in PODIS.
• Maintains drug inventory and coordinates with vendors for returns/replacements.
• Performs basic eye tests (pupillary checks, intraocular pressure) and dilates pupils as needed.
• May function as clinic technician to support patient care.
• Completes LMS courses annually by deadline.
