Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC Bakersfield is seeking a part-time Sales Associate/Material Handler at the Bakersfield Union Ave Thrift Store. You will help customers, process donations, stock merchandise, and keep the store clean and organized.

Pay rate is $16.90/hr. Qualifications include a High School diploma, POS/Cash Register proficiency, and the ability to pass a background check while communicating effectively with staff and customers.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register.
• Background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock and merchandise items on the sales floor per TSA standards.
• Sort donations for processing according to TSA standards.
• Maintain the store’s cleanliness, organization and safety as directed by management.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and procedures.
• Assist in donation handling and receipt provision to donors.
• Support schedule coverage including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by management.
