Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate in Wheeling, WV to assist customers, handle transactions at the register, and maintain store cleanliness and stock levels. The role emphasizes safety, courtesy, and efficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.

The position is part-time with responsibilities including loading/unloading merchandise, restocking, and delivering friendly service to customers and associates alike. Physical tasks and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store customer service experience highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and other physical tasks.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
