Job summary

Dollar Tree in Essex Junction, VT seeks a Customer Service Associate to assist customers, handle transactions, and keep the store welcoming and organized. You will greet shoppers, answer questions, and ensure merchandise is stocked and the cash area is secure.

This part-time role emphasizes friendly service, reliability, and safe store operations. You’ll work with the team to deliver a positive shopping experience while supporting daily store duties and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, and lifting tasks.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
