Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

You will assist with daily store activities, merchandising, staffing, loss prevention and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates while upholding company policies. This role is part time, based in Iron Mountain, MI, with the opportunity to support all aspects of the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise; payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe and respectful environment with customers, associates and leaders.
• Keep store clean, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
