Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a retail setting. You will assist with open/close procedures, merchandise organization, and ensuring a safe, presentable store environment.

Key duties include supervising associates, handling communications, and upholding store standards, with emphasis on customer service and loss prevention. This role is part-time and located in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management or retail experience in a similar environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store functions and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
