Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, OR is seeking a Part-Time Mixed Shift Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Therapy team. The role involves both routine and emergency respiratory care, including ventilator management, pulmonary diagnostics, and airway care, in accordance with physician orders and protocols.

Responsibilities include intubation assistance, CPR, bronchoscopy support, arterial line placement, ABG analysis, and rounds with physicians in critical care.

Qualifications

• License to practice respiratory care in the state where services are performed (Oregon).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC is required.
• Basic Life Support certification from AHA or Red Cross required at hire (ACLS/PALS may be accepted instead).
• NRP, ACLS and PALS certifications required within 6 months.
• Other certifications may be required as identified in SAHS Crosswalk.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessment, airway and ventilator management, and pulmonary diagnostics.
• Deliver medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene, lung expansion therapy, bronchoscopy assistance and ABG analysis.
• Demonstrate independent judgment, rounds with physicians in critical care, and mentor staff.
• Complete arterial line insertions, ABG sticks and interpretation; adhere to protocols.
• Complete mandatory training on time and respond to changes in patient status per protocols.
