Job summary

San Joaquin General Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I for a part-time position. The role involves operating respiratory therapy equipment, performing blood gas analyses, and supporting patient care in the Respiratory Care Department.

The successful candidate will hold a California Respiratory Care Practitioner license and demonstrate the ability to administer therapy, monitor equipment, and train others as needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the California Respiratory Care Board.
• Current principles, methods, and techniques of respiratory therapy and the care and operation of related equipment.
• Ability to administer a variety of skilled respiratory therapy treatments and to train others as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates respiratory equipment and apparatus for prescribed respiratory therapy.
• Operates blood gas analysis equipment and reports results.
• Makes rounds to check and adjust respiratory therapy equipment; cleans, assembles, maintains, and repairs equipment.
• Sets up and maintains long term ventilators.
• Performs screening pulmonary function tests.
• Assists cardiac arrest team by supplying oxygen and assisting with CPR or artificial respiration.
