Job summary

CooperRiis, located in Mill Spring, NC, is hiring a Part Time Resident Support Staff- Direct Care to assist adults with mental health challenges in a therapeutic community. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour.

The role focuses on guiding residents through activities, recovery goals, and crisis support within a supportive community setting. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience, is 21+ with a valid driver's license, and offers retirement plan with company match

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience working with adults with mental health challenges
• At least 21 years of age, current driver’s license, and acceptable driving record to be covered by company insurance

Responsibilities

• Helps lead recreational, social, and cultural activities
• Encourages participation and can facilitate other activities as needed for residents who aren’t participating in the planned activities
• Support residents in their recovery plans and goals
• Fill in for our Lodge Advisors as needed
• Provides support in crisis management
• Assists with procedures such as urine drug screens, breathalyzer, and medication administration
• Transports and accompanies residents on community-based trips, outings, reactional, social, and cultural activities

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience working with adults with mental health challenges
