Part-time Residential Specialist-Housing

Join to apply for the Part-time Residential Specialist-Housing role at Daybreak Venture, LLP.

Note: Essential personnel supervise the general activities of Opportunity House residents and provide support and guidance in 8-hour shifts for 24/7 coverage of the program. Responsibilities include:

• Working at least two (2) eight-hour shifts on weekends, with potential for weekday, evening, night, or holiday shifts.
• Maintaining on-call status to fill in as needed during evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Working several holidays per year.

Housing Residential Specialist Duties include:

• Providing life skills training on topics like time management, hygiene, food management, and safety.
• Facilitating life enrichment activities and artistic expression for youth.
• Supporting and guiding clients using the Therapeutic Milieu and Stages of Change models.
• Supervising youth schedules and managing program expectations.
• Managing Daybreak Dollars pantry items and client tasks.
• Documenting shift events, maintaining records, and ensuring communication between shifts.
• Performing duties like rounds, inventory, cooking, laundry, and mail distribution.
• Maintaining cleanliness in communal areas and ensuring safety protocols.
• Collaborating with security, assisting with move-ins and move-outs, and ensuring apartment inspections and bed bug protocols are followed.
• Enforcing program rules and supporting positive youth behaviors.
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the Housing Supervisor.

Qualifications include: HS/GED required; AA or BA in Human Services preferred. Experience with target populations is a plus. Valid Ohio Driver's License, CPR/FA certification, good communication, computer skills, and ability to work independently are required.

Physical demands: Regular talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work environment: Moderate noise, occasional outside weather exposure. Must pass background checks and pre-employment testing.
