Job summary

Grimes Bandera is seeking a part-time Removal Technician to care for, remove, and transport human remains in accordance with state and company policies. The role is on-call with a 2-hour minimum for night or weekend removals and a $125 bonus per removal.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of experience, a valid driver’s license, and a compassionate, detail-oriented, professional team player mindset. The position is non-exempt and based in Bandera, TX.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for deceased in a respectful manner.
• Removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence to mortuary or funeral home.
• Transport to mortuary or funeral home, may remove from prep rooms or embalming facilities.
• Maintain removal vehicle clean and in good condition.
• Ensure adequate PPE in removal vehicles.
• Keep a log of all deceased in care and those transferred.

Salary Range: $15.00 To $18.00 Hourly

This position is as needed. When called for a night or weekend removal there will be a 2 hour minimum plus $125 per removal bonus. Normally 1 week on and 1 week off schedule.

The part-time Removal Technician is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Competencies

• Care for deceased in a respectful manner.
• Adhere to all professional, municipal, state/provincial and federal licensing and/or authority regulations.
• Keep and Maintain a log of all deceased in their care as well as those transferred from our care.
• Promote a safe work environment be being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct.
• Performs removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence to transport to, mortuary or funeral home. May perform removals from prep rooms orembalming facilities as well.
• Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean inside and out and is properly maintained.
• Maintains adequate supply of Personal Protective Equipment in removal vehicles.
• This job is Non-exempt.

Required Education and Experience

• Knowledge of computers and some software would be an asset, or willingness to learn
