Job summary

Qualifications

• Psychiatrist delivers psychotherapy, diagnostic and therapeutic services in a correctional setting.
• Prescribes medications and conducts medication management as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to privacy and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric assessments and evaluations for inmate patients per NCCHC/APA/ACA/PBNDS standards.
• Prescribe, direct and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications as allowed by state regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nurses to discuss treatment plans and progress.
• Document all care information concisely and accurately in the patient’s medical record.
