Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a part-time Lead Hazard Control Risk Assessor for a remote role tied to our Cincinnati, OH operations. You will perform risk assessments for lead hazards in varied buildings, collect samples, prepare detailed reports, and educate stakeholders while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Travel up to ~75% for project sites is required; a valid OH lead risk assessor certification and strong EPA/HUD knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in environmental health or lead hazard assessments.
• Current Lead Risk Assessor certification from the Ohio Department of Health.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and HUD lead regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and risk assessments for lead hazards per HUD/EPA/ODH guidelines.
• Collect environmental samples (dust wipe, paint chips, soil) for lab analysis.
• Prepare detailed reports with findings, recommendations and mitigation steps.
• Perform Healthy Homes assessments to identify dwelling improvements.
• Educate owners, tenants and contractors on lead hazards and safe practices.
• Maintain records of assessments and remediation activities.
• Stay current with lead regulations and best practices in lead inspection.
• Identify site-specific interim control and abatement methods.
• Oversee lead abatement projects to ensure best practices and prevent contamination.
• Conduct lead clearances and report writing per guidelines.
