Job summary

Northeastern University Library is seeking part-time assistants for a grant-funded digitization and cataloging project in Boston. The team will support archival descriptions of the Elma Lewis collections, working within Digital Production Services and Archives staff.

Hours are 15-18 per week with hybrid and fully remote options. This temporary role offers opportunity to contribute to descriptive metadata, contextual documentation, and collaborative workflows in a dynamic library setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum: some experience with metadata creation.
• Demonstrated interest in inclusive cataloging and reparative description.

Responsibilities

• Catalog textual materials in spreadsheets per standards.
• Perform post-production processing of digitized texts.
• Assist with automated captioning workflows for audiovisual materials.
• Develop contextual documentation about the collections.
