Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an AI Governance Manager in Reston, VA to build and lead the enterprise AI governance program across EPC and business processes. The role partners with Legal, Risk, Privacy, Security, and Supply Chain to ensure artificial intelligence is adopted, deployed, and used in a manner that is ethical, trustworthy, safe, secure, and consistent with Bechtel's values.

The position is part-time telework, three in-office days per week in Reston; no relocation offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 13 years in technology, risk, or governance, with AI focus.
• US citizenship required.
• Experience establishing enterprise AI governance programs.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and translating findings into mitigations.
• Ability to coordinate with Legal, Privacy, Security, Risk, Procurement, and Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the enterprise AI governance program.
• Run the AI intake, review, approval, and monitoring workflow.
• Operate the AI governance committee and track actions to closure.
• Coordinate AI impact assessments with Legal, Privacy, Information Security, Risk Management, data owners, and engineering safety and quality specialists.
• Define review criteria and controls for generative AI assistants and AI agents.
• Track mitigation actions with named owners, evidence, and due dates.
• Preserve accountability of business-process owners for intended purpose and risk acceptance.
• Map AI regulations to internal controls and monitor developments.
• Coordinate AI-specific supplier reviews with Supply Chain and Legal.
• Maintain audit-ready records and support audits.
