Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Deputy AI Program Manager to lead the corporate AI program within the EPC Transformation organization in Houston. The role balances strategic governance with hands-on delivery, shaping use cases, prioritizing work, and guiding a mixed team of Bechtel staff and partners.

The position requires 13–15 years of experience in technology programs, a strong AI/ML background, and the ability to communicate with senior leadership while navigating cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 13–15 years of relevant professional experience, including 5+ years managing technology programs or portfolios with multiple workstreams.
• Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience delivering AI/ML capabilities into production, knowledge of Azure AI stack, budgets and benefits tracking, and strong communication with executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership across the AI program and manage scope, priority, and resourcing.
• Maintain the program roadmap, intake process, and prioritization criteria aligned to business value and risk.
• Chair governance forums and prepare material for steering committees.
• Represent the AI program in planning cycles, including budget and resource forecasting.
• Own delivery portfolio health from concept to production support and benefits.
• Review architectures with engineering and data leads for security and enterprise alignment.
• Manage dependencies with data platform, cybersecurity, and enterprise apps.
• Drive transition of pilots into production services and establish operating models.
