Job summary

Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance seeks a Reinsurance Analyst to manage reinsurance for life and disability income products and maintain treaty documentation. You will handle daily policy reviews, billing, tax reporting, and inquiries from reinsurance partners, ensuring timely, accurate records and compliance.

Candidates should have a business-related degree or equivalent experience with Southern Farm Bureau, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate in a team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business related field or two years of experience with Southern Farm Bureau
• Insurance or industry related certification preferred
• Knowledge and/or interest in new and emerging technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment
• Prioritization skills and flexibility to reprioritize tasks when appropriate
• Ability to function effectively in the workplace as shown by integrity and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Process new reinsured business and maintain existing reinsurance for life and DI products
• Review new policies on the daily cycle reinsurance report for accuracy and treaty assignment
• Review automatic binding limits to determine need for facultative reinsurance and contact Underwriting for missing paperwork
• Maintain all reinsured policies on the TAI reinsurance system
• Review reinsured transactions across Underwriting, Conservation, Policy Service, and Claims
• Review TAI recapture reports and recapture eligible policies per treaty guidelines
• Fill retention limit on remaining policies after termination
• Prepare monthly billings for traditional life policies on the TAI system
• Prepare monthly billings for Disability Income and adjust for changes
• Research and answer inquiries from reinsurance companies
• Prepare Survivor Whole Life billing
• Prepare the reinsurance DAC tax report for federal tax return
• Provide assistance to Claims, Policy Service, and Underwriting regarding reinsurance matters
• Maintain and update original reinsurance treaties in the vault
