Job summary

JEVS Human Services at Orleans Technical College seeks a part-time Refrigeration Instructor to teach students hands-on and theory in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. You will guide classes, evaluate tests, and develop materials.

The role is evenings, 5:30pm–10:15pm, two nights per week, with a base pay rate of $32.50 per hour. EPA certification required; experience with heat pumps, furnaces, ductwork, and soldering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing residential/commercial HVAC systems.
• Must have EPA certification.
• Knowledge of electrical theory and heating theory.
• Soldering and brazing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, as specified in the curriculum, in the basics of air conditioning refrigeration and heating.
• Supervise students in hands-on trades tasks.
• Provide testing of students' knowledge of theory.
• Prepare curricula materials.
• Utilize varying delivery methods and media to keep students engaged with the lesson for the full class day.
• Maintain student attendance and grade rosters.
