The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. seeks a Part-Time Reference Assistant to help students discover information and resources, support learning, research, and academicsuccess by connecting students, faculty, staff, and communitymembers with library services in a welcoming environment.
You’ll assist patrons with research questions by navigating the library’s collections, discovery tools, online databases, and other authoritative resources.

As a Part-Time Reference Assistant, you’ll play animportant role in supporting learning, research, and academicsuccess by connecting students, faculty, staff, and communitymembers with library services in a welcoming and engagingenvironment.
In this role, you’ll assist patrons with research questions byhelping them navigate the library’s collections, discovery tools,online databases, and other authoritative resources. You’ll support library instruction by assisting with orientations, informationliteracy sessions, and classroom preparation, and may leadinstructional sessions as needed. You’ll also contribute to thecreation of research guides, promote library resources, answerquestions at the Information Desk, assist with library opening andclosing procedures, and provide support with printing, scanning,and other library services. Working collaboratively with librarycolleagues, you’ll help ensure every visitor has a positive andproductive library experience.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys helping others learn and has apassion for research, information literacy, and customer service.The ideal candidate communicates effectively with diverseaudiences, is comfortable presenting information to groups, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Success in this rolerequires strong technology skills, the ability to quickly learnlibrary systems and databases, an understanding of the researchprocess, and a commitment to providing high-quality service. Bachelor’s degree from afour-year accredited institution required, or equivalentcombination of education and related experience.
Starting pay range: $20.01 $23.01
Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: up to 19.5 hrs per week, including Mon-Thurs5:00-8:00pm & Sun 12:00-6:00pm
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check and proof of degree if required for this position.
