Job summary

The Borough of Hawthorne is seeking a part-time recycling attendant to greet residents and oversee the drop-off of recyclable materials at the recycling center.

Shifts are four hours long and performed outdoors; duties may include heavy lifting. Valid NJ Driver's License required; reports to the DPW Recycling Coordinator and DPW Director. Open hours: Mon–Sat 8:30 am–4 pm, Sun 11 am–3 pm.

• Valid NJ Driver’s License required.

Position Summary

The attendant’s responsibility greets and oversees the drop-off of residential recyclable acceptable materials at the recycling center. Items such as cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, metal, polystyrene (Styrofoam), yard waste, electronics, etc.

• Work Environment: Standing out in the elements for extended periods of time. Four (4) hour shifts. May have some heavy lifting involved.
• Customer service: Residential friendly atmosphere.
• Reporting Structure: Reports to the DPW Recycling Coordinator and DPW Director.

Open hours of operation: Mon.-Sat. 8:30 am-4 pm/ Sun. 11am-3 pm

Valid NJ Driver’s License required.
