Job summary

The City of Glendale seeks a Recreation Specialist to assist in implementing recreational programs, prepare facilities, manage reservations for meeting rooms, fields and courts, and set up equipment such as sports gear and audiovisual systems.

This part-time role requires availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, up to 30 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $18. The position includes work at Sahuaro Ranch Park, Glendale Youth Sports Complex, Paseo Sports Complex, and Heroes Park.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products and reservation software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recreation facilities and set up required equipment for events and activities.
• Manage reservations for meeting rooms, fields, and courts.
• Provide guidance to program participants to enhance their experience.
• Assist Recreation Coordinators with leagues, tournaments, and program operations.
