Job summary

The City of Glendale Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Recreation Specialist to assist in implementing recreational programs, preparing facilities, managing reservations for meeting rooms, fields, and courts, and setting up equipment for scheduled events.

You will guide program participants to enhance their experience while working up to 30 hours per week with daytime, evenings and weekends; hourly rate is $18.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency/Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Products and reservation-type software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Recreation Coordinators with sports leagues/tournaments, field reservations, and recreation programs.
• Prepare recreation facilities, manage reservations for meeting rooms, fields and courts, and set up equipment such as sports gear, audiovisual systems, tables, chairs and other recreational materials for events.
• Provide guidance to program participants to enhance their overall experience.
