Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking a Part Time Recreation Assistant to support programming, events, and customer service at Ivory Baker Recreation Center. This role involves evenings and weekends, about 19 hours per week, helping with registration, admissions, and basic administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and comfort with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and handle registrations and rentals in a recreation center or park facility
• Ensure safety of participants and administer first aid when necessary
• Enforce rules and regulations
• Collect fees and registrations for programs and facility rentals
• Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas
• Referee or timekeeper roles as needed at games and activities
• Assist with various recreational programs for all ages
• Handle inquiries and complaints from the public
• Assist with special events and field trips
