Job summary

City of Alexandria, VA is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Leader II at Charles Houston Recreation Center for the Out of School Time Program, 20 hours per week.

The position involves leading arts, crafts, sports, games, and field trips, ensuring safety and providing positive role modeling.

Shift 2pm-6pm Monday–Friday and occasional Saturdays; High School Diploma required; CPR/First Aid and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and two years of related experience, or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Spanish or Amharic language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead recreational and cultural activities for participants.
• Prepare for activities and develop program plans.
• Set up equipment and manage attendance/registration.
• Maintain safety and supervise participants.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate with supervisors.
