Roanoke County, Virginia, seeks a seasonal recreation instructor to lead group classes on an hourly basis, maintaining safety and high program quality with minimal supervision. You will deliver diverse programs and ensure standards are followed.

The role requires teaching experience, education in programming/instruction, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. A background check and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are preferred.

Formación

• Education or training in the assigned area of programming and instruction.
• Some experience in teaching/instructing groups; three (3) or more years preferred.
• Valid Virginia driver's license with good driving record; CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred.
• Subject to a complete criminal history and CPS background search; post-offer physical may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Teaches group classes for designated subject or program.
• Ensures all participants are engaged and class standards are met.
• Motivates participants to achieve goals and keep attending.
• Interacts with members, guests, and staff to model an inviting atmosphere.
• Stays current on recreation trends and their influence on programs.
• Starts and ends classes on time and returns equipment to proper location.
• Recommends new or replacement equipment for areas.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, contractors, customers, and the general public.
• Fosters a team environment through daily work habits and a positive attitude.
• Active participation in meetings to stay informed of facility issues.
