Job summary

City of Lenexa is seeking an Activities Attendant to support birthday parties, events, and youth recreation programs at Lenexa facilities. The role involves preparing spaces, supervising activities, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

The position is part-time year-round, with a typical schedule of 5–10 hours per week across multiple venues and shifts such as mornings, afternoons, and weekends. At least 16 years old and First Aid/AED certification within 60 days are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to communicate clearly with participants, parents, and staff.
• Ability to provide positive customer service.
• First Aid/AED Certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and supervision during programs, parties, and events
• Open, close, and monitor gymnasium and activity spaces
• Set up, adjust, clean, and tear down equipment, tables, and chairs
• Monitor participants to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules
• Complete required reports and documentation
• Operate and maintain equipment and supplies
• Administer First Aid and CPR when necessary
• Assist with facility-wide events and other facility needs
