Job summary

The City of Lenexa is seeking a responsible, safety-focused Lifeguard to oversee the daily operation of our swimming pools. This part-time, benefitted position works 25-30 hours weekly with a varying shift schedule between 4:45am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

You will supervise patrons, enforce pool rules, and respond to emergencies using CPR, first aid, and water rescue techniques. Training and maintenance duties are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard with Water module (or willing to obtain before start date). This certification includes First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety of all pool patrons.
• Respond to emergencies with lifesaving techniques, including CPR, first aid, and water rescues.
• Maintain lifeguard training standards by attending required in-service trainings.
• Provide excellent customer service while enforcing safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with daily facility setup, cleaning, and pool maintenance.
• Complete required reports and records, including incident reports, first aid logs, and daily operation logs.
• Perform routine safety inspections of the pool, deck, restrooms, and surrounding areas.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment or report necessary repairs.
• Follow all safety, sanitary, and organizational regulations.
