Job summary

CAMBA in New York is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to create and facilitate group content and events at 211 Riverdale Ave, Brooklyn. You will coordinate activities, prepare monthly calendars, and work with staff on safety and program delivery.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, pays $18.36 per hour for 17 hours weekly, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement and paid time off. CAMBA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience coordinating group activities preferred.
• Ability to maintain records and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and compliance with HIPPA regulations.
• Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
• Comply with Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
• Assist with the teaching of physical education, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, sports, ADL or other recreational activities.
• Help plan, coordinate and facilitate social and/or peer support events for clients.
• Organize, and co-facilitate group community activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, CAMBA staff, community members and with funders.
• Track and keep records of equipment and supplies used.
• Ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used properly.
• Monitor clients' progress toward their goals (dates achieved) and document via progress notes.
• Market the program in order to recruit clients.
• Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• May conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients’ situations and needs.
• May input client data and client progress information into automated database.
