Job summary

CAMBA is a community organization serving New Yorkers through 180+ programs. We are seeking a Recreational Aide to support education, arts, sports and social activities at our Kings Inn Shelter and related sites in NYC.

The role requires a Highschool Diploma or GED and two years of relevant experience. Bi-lingual English and Spanish is required. This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have a Highschool Diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant experience in a recreation/mentality support environment preferred.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
• Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
• Assist with teaching of physical education, arts & crafts, performing arts, music, sports, ADL or other recreational activities.
• Help plan, coordinate and facilitate social and/or peer support events for clients.
• Organize and co-facilitate group community activities.
• Assist with design and production of visuals for shelter spaces reflecting themes.
• Communicate effectively with clients, CAMBA staff and funders.
• Track equipment and supplies used and ensure facilities are used properly.
• Monitor clients’ progress toward goals and document via progress notes.
• Market the program to recruit clients.
• Provide information for reports and assessments.
• May prepare marketing materials and client files.
• May input client data into databases.
