Job summary

CMHA-CEI is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide an enhanced level of support for individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders at AMHS/Crisis Services, Lansing, MI. You will work under the supervision of the CSU Coordinator and carry out program activities to align with treatment plans created by professional staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience with emotional impairments, and the ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience interacting with persons with emotional impairments.
• Must obtain Peer Support Specialist certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form.

Responsibilities

• Provide an enhanced level of support for persons with mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Carry out activities of the program in accordance with treatment plans developed by professionals.
• Follow CMHA-CEI mission, policies and procedures.
