Job summary

UC San Diego in California seeks a part-time Radiologic Technologist or Senior Rad Tech to perform routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams across General Diagnostic Radiology, following established protocols and radiation safety guidelines.

Incumbent will prepare and position patients, review images for quality, and communicate effectively with staff. Depending on experience and licenses, this role may be hired at Rad Tech or Sr Rad Tech level.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate of a school of radiologic technology.
• California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R).
• California Radiology Technologist of Fluoroscopy (CRT-F) within six (6) months of hire, Must possess to be considered for Sr. Rad tech.
• Registered Technologist for Radiography issued by ARRT (R.T(R)(ARRT)).
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Less than 18 months of recent experience in a similar role and setting or a new graduate of an approved radiologic technology program (Rad Tech) OR more than 18 months of experience (Sr. Rad Tech).
• Must possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex radiographic and fluoroscopic exams using fixed and portable imaging equipment.
• Prepare and position patient to achieve the highest quality image.
• Enter and verify data in the computer system; review images for technical quality.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers and physicians; support other technologists as needed.
• Duties may vary based on experience and licensure; Rad Tech or Sr Rad Tech level may apply.
