Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Part-time Radiologic Technologist for the Day Shift to perform diagnostic imaging with a focus on safety, image quality, and patient experience.

Responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, ensuring exam readiness, documenting results, and coordinating workflow for time-sensitive studies, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical records and image archive system.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Upholds radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection prevention measures as applicable.
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
