Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our care team. You will maintain patient safety throughout imaging, produce diagnostic images, and apply judgment to optimize results in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires ARRT Radiography, IEMA accreditation, and BLS, with a full-time schedule and day shift. You will support exam flow, safety compliance, and compassionate patient care within the Northwestern Medicine system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Radiography (R) certification.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) accreditation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Upholds all applicable safety standards within diagnostic imaging to protect staff and patients.
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth.
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs.
