Job summary

North Pointe Care Center is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a part-time basis. The PTA will assist the supervising therapist, promote resident mobility, and contribute to positive patient outcomes in a post-acute, skilled nursing setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current California PTA license in good standing.
• CPR Certification (if required by licensure).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate updates to the therapy team.
• Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention strategies.
• Support discharge planning and care transition processes.
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in care conferences, rehabilitation meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
