Job summary

Chesterton Manor is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Chesterton, IN. This role focuses on helping residents improve strength, mobility, balance, and independence with patient-centered care.

The PTA will implement treatment plans under a licensed PT, educate residents and caregivers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support positive resident outcomes. BLS certification and Indiana PTA license required.

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in Indiana.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient‑focused approach to care.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the rehabilitation team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Provide hands‑on therapeutic interventions to improve residents' strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and functional independence.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate residents and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow all clinical, facility, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the rehabilitation and interdisciplinary teams to support positive resident outcomes.
