Pasadena Villa Outpatient in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a part-time Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy during evening hours (Mon, Wed, Thu 5:00-9:00pm). The role focuses on adults 18+ with anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders within an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization setting.

Under licensed supervision, you will develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology.
  • Provisional clinical license in good standing in PA.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis.
  • TB clearance and criminal background check; CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
  • Ability to work in outpatient, partial hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates group and individual therapy sessions in accordance with the clinical program schedule.
  • Completes session notes, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports in compliance with guidelines.
  • Facilitates specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience.
  • Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
  • Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
  • Sets limits and boundaries in a kind and firm manner.
  • Conducts effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation involving other team members as needed.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
  • Attends clinical, consultation, and operations meetings; serves as a clinical advocate for assigned cases.
  • Communicates client progress with the referral sources, families, parents and/or guardians, as appropriate.

Associate Therapists assess the therapeutic needs of clients, develop appropriate treatment plans, and facilitate group, family and individual therapy sessions. Position collaborates with clients, team members, external clinical partners and family members, as appropriate, to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clinical, admissions, and leadership team members throughout the organization.Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clients and families, clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.Position ResponsibilitiesEssential Responsibilities1. Facilitates group and individual therapy sessions in accordance with the clinical program schedule.2. Completes session notes, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.a. Completes all necessary documentation within prescribed format and timelines.b. Ensures documentation reflects ongoing assessments of client’s clinical presentation and behaviors.3. Facilitates specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience.4. Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.5. Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.6. Sets limits and holds boundaries in a kind and firm manner.7. Completes other duties as assigned.Education and ExperiencePosition requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology. Holds a provisional clinical license in good standing, within the state of PA.
