Pasadena Villa Outpatient in Norfolk, VA seeks a licensed therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy within an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization setting. You will assess needs, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a master’s degree and licensure (LPC/LCSW/LMFT/LMHC) in Virginia, at least 2 years of mental health experience, and compliance with TB, background checks, CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology and VA licensure are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with adults with mental health disorders.
  • TB clearance, criminal background check, and state/federal requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
  • Maintains timely documentation reflecting client progress and treatment.
  • Coordinates care with an interdisciplinary treatment team.

Therapists assess the therapeutic needs of clients, develop appropriate treatment plans, and facilitate group, family and individual therapy sessions. Position collaborates with clients, team members, external clinical partners and family members, as appropriate, to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.Relationships and ContactsWithin the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clinical, admissions, and leadership team members throughout the organization.Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clients and families, clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.Position ResponsibilitiesEssential ResponsibilitiesFacilitates group, family and individual therapy sessions in accordance with the clinical program schedule.Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.Completes all necessary documentation within prescribed format and timelines.Ensures documentation reflects ongoing assessments of client’s clinical presentation and behaviors.Facilitates specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises and/or co-leads groups with clinical interns, when appropriate.Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.Sets limits and holds boundaries in a kind and firm manner.Conducts effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation involving other team members, as needed.Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.Attends clinical, consultation, and operations meetings; serves as a clinical advocate for assigned cases.Communicates client progress with the referral sources, families, parents and/or guardians, as appropriate.Addresses clients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a welcoming and respectful manner.Responds to clients and families with empathy and positive professional skills.Additional ResponsibilitiesCan be relied upon to be at work as scheduled, proactively notifying supervisor of planned and unplanned time off needs.Reads, understands, and adheres to all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests; adheres to facility policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.Maintains positive attitude and acts as a team player with others on the team.Attends and completes all trainings within assigned time frames.Completes other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsEducation and ExperiencePosition requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology. Must hold a LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC, in good standing, within the state of Virginia. Leverage evidence-informed, clinically excellent treatment interventions.Advocacy – advocates for the needs and interest of clients and families to promotes clinical excellence through improved outcomes, access to care, and service delivery.
