Job summary

SCAD is seeking a part-time fashion professor to join a team of professionals who collaborate with major brands and prepare students for creative careers. You will design syllabi, guide classes, and foster a professional, engaging environment in which students learn to master new markets, technologies, and trends.

You will maintain an active classroom, hold office hours, assess programs, and participate in campus events and field trips, ensuring alignment with SCAD standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in fashion design or a relevant field.
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in fashion design.
• Two years of work experience in a related profession OR post-secondary teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active and engaged classroom environment
• Design syllabi and submit them for approval
• Hold office hours and midterm grade reviews to provide feedback to students
• Be available to students outside of regular class hours through extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips
• Conduct course- and program-level assessments
• Model professionalism and record attendance
• Fulfill grading and academic documentation requirements
• Follow academic policies and regulations
• Support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts
• Attend on-ground and virtual events, including faculty councils, admission events, curriculum assessment and development, exhibitions, or other publicity assignments

As a part-time professor, you’ll:

• Model professionalism and record attendance
• Fulfill grading and academic documentation requirements
• Follow academic policies and regulations

Minimum qualifications:
