Job Description:

Part-Time Professional Tutor

Work Schedule: Up to 15hours a week

At this time, the College is not providing sponsorships for Visas.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Conduct individual and, on occasion, small-group tutoring sessions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Tutor students in area(s) of expertise and other subjects as assigned.
• Encourage students to develop a systematic approach to studying that will serve them throughout their college career.
• Help maintain EAB Navigate records of student attendance and learning progress.
• Attend required tutor meetings throughout the semester.
• Assist students in making appointments and logging in/out of center.
• Assist the Tutor Coordinator in recruiting, hiring, and training peer tutors.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position of Professional Tutor.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree;
• Experience tutoring and/or teaching the college level;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrate qualities of patience and empathy; respect for students of all genders, gender identities, cultural/ethnic backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
• Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations
• Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Community College tutoring or teaching experience.
