Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Ohio is seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will assess wounds, prescribe medications per Ohio law, order and review treatments, and collaborate with facility staff and the primary care physician.

Candidates must hold an unrestricted OH NP license, board certification, and preferably wound care certification. DEA license is optional.

Qualifications

• Must hold an OH NP license and board certification.
• Experience in wound care and chronic/diabetic wounds.
• Comfort with diagnosing and treating wounds; manage pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Experience with EMR and interdisciplinary team care.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with OH Law.
• Order, review, and follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff on changes in condition and care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with OH Law.
• Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
• and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Wound Np Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of OH.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional)
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
• Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
• Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
• Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
