Job summary

US Mobile is seeking an Associate Counsel, Privacy & Cybersecurity, to serve as the go-to legal resource for privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity across the company. This part-time role collaborates with Security, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to keep privacy practices sound and contracts up to date.

The position offers a flexible schedule and a NYC base. You will review contracts, update policies, monitor regulatory changes, assist incident response, and translate legal risk

Qualifications

• J.D. with active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4–6 years of relevant legal experience in privacy, data protection, or cybersecurity.
• Working knowledge of U.S. privacy and telecom regulatory frameworks (CCPA/CPRA, FCC/CPNI, TCPA).
• Experience reviewing or negotiating commercial or technology contracts with data protection or security terms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day legal resource for privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity with Security and IT teams.
• Maintain and improve privacy policies, data governance documentation, and internal security policies.
• Track changes in U.S. telecom and privacy regulations affecting US Mobile.
• Support incident response and draft breach notifications when needed.
• Review and negotiate privacy and security terms in vendor contracts.
• Assist with legal review of new products/features from a data privacy/security standpoint, including AI and cloud tools.
• Partner with General Counsel on larger cybersecurity or regulatory matters.
• Create training materials so non-legal teams understand privacy obligations.
